Manos Perakakis is an associate professor in the Department of Marketing and Advertising at the Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Crete. Since 2006, he has been teaching courses related to web design, construction and management (Web Design), social networks (Social Media), e-marketing strategy, search engine optimization (SEO), as well as graphic/video editing for the creation of promotional material.
Beyond his academic career, he has extensive experience in website and application design and promotion since 1999. In 1997, while still a high school student, he led the team that created the first Greek computer game (Runaway/Απόδραση), which was published by MLS Multimedia. He is one of the two founding members of the well-known portal asxetos.gr, which started in 2000 and became one of the largest independent Greek portals, with tens of thousands of visits per day. He is also a PhD candidate at Brunel University, focusing on websites and advertising on Internet TV (Smart TV).
